April 22: EWB benefit dinner
Engineers Without Borders sets dinner, silent auction at Newark Country Club
8:27 a.m., April 16, 2015--The University of Delaware chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB-UD) will hold a benefit dinner and silent auction at the Newark Country Club on Wednesday, April 22, at 6:30 p.m.
The annual event celebrates the chapter’s accomplishments, acknowledges donors to the program and invites the community to support the chapter’s vision for the coming year.

The dinner will feature a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, various speakers, hors d’oeuvres, and time to meet personally with many of the dedicated students who work hard to contribute positively and sustainably to the growth of developing countries.
The evening will include a tribute to the legacy of the late Steven K. Dentel, the founding adviser for EWB-UD. Dentel, a longtime professor of civil and environmental engineering at UD, died in February.
The group’s new mentors are Abigail Clarke-Sather, adjunct faculty in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Kimberly Bothi of UD’s Institute for Global Studies.

About EWB-UD
Since its founding in 2006, EWB-UD has successfully completed two international development projects: a concrete vehicle bridge in Guatemala and a multi-village water distribution system in Cameroon. The newest project takes the chapter to Malawi where members hope to address the potable water needs of communities in the Sakata region.
