His remarks to the BHLP focused on consistency, balance and discipline being essential to successful leadership.

Ehrlich’s enthusiasm and candor resonated with the crowd. His focus on internal security was particularly poignant, according to sophomore Julie Millisky, who said she was pleasantly surprised by a presentation that felt fresh, focused and genuine.

“Gov. Ehrlich’s explanation of how insecurity can lead to interpersonal failures truly compelled me to look within myself and to consider how I can best navigate my professional relationships,” Millisky said. “Analyzing personal strengths for the ‘it’ factor that helps you control your life’s direction will undoubtedly be helpful to me as I continue on my leadership journey.”

Millisky, an interpersonal communications and public policy double major with minors in environmental humanities and women and gender studies, was also among BHLP participants invited to join Ehrlich for a post-presentation reception, during which many students received personal recommendations for opportunities to explore in pursuit of their specific academic goals.

Ehrlich’s visit complemented BHLP’s mission to build individual and organizational leadership capacity, fostering engagement and service by providing diverse opportunities to question, explore, understand and apply leadership on campus and beyond.
