TEXT SIZE

8:37 a.m., Sept. 27, 2013--STEER, an education and service registered student organization at the University of Delaware, has announced it is seeking students for the Education Enrichment Leaders (EEL) program.

STEER’s goal is to allow people to share their talents, both on and off campus, through individual and group led programs and tutorials, and EEL provides for such opportunities.

People Stories

Sports, race, culture

Through a class on sports, race and culture, UD's Ronald Whittington helps students become aware of bigotry during the era of segregation and Jim Crow laws.

Ethnobotany

UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources alumnus Michael Balick will return to campus Monday, May 5, for a presentation on "Ancient Wisdom and Modern Medicine: Plants, People and Cultures in the Tropical Rainforest."

Participants can teach whatever they want, whether it be academic or otherwise, offering tutoring in subjects such as math or English or activities such as sports, playing an instrument or dance.

EELs can teach wherever they want, whether it be at UD on The Green or in a classroom or lecture hall. They also can teach at area elementary, middle or high schools, by themselves or with another EEL.

To become an EEL, fill out the form at this link and email it to Andrew Millin at amillin@udel.edu.

STEER has Facebook and Twitter pages. For general information, email the organization at steeratud@gmail.com.
