STEER announces Education Enrichment Leaders program


8:37 a.m., Sept. 27, 2013--STEER, an education and service registered student organization at the University of Delaware, has announced it is seeking students for the Education Enrichment Leaders (EEL) program.

STEER’s goal is to allow people to share their talents, both on and off campus, through individual and group led programs and tutorials, and EEL provides for such opportunities.

Farm 'perfect fit'

Becca Manning, a graduate of UD's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, has taken interests developed in Chile to become farm manager at Delaware Greenways' Historic Penn Farm in New Castle.

New assignment

Scott R. Douglass, executive vice president and treasurer at UD, has been named vice chancellor for finance and administration at North Carolina State University, effective Jan. 11.

Participants can teach whatever they want, whether it be academic or otherwise, offering tutoring in subjects such as math or English or activities such as sports, playing an instrument or dance.

EELs can teach wherever they want, whether it be at UD on The Green or in a classroom or lecture hall. They also can teach at area elementary, middle or high schools, by themselves or with another EEL.
