Carillon to toll in memorial to Sept. 11

10:59 p.m., Sept. 10, 2013--In remembrance of the 12th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, the University of Delaware carillon will ring at 8:46 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, marking the time the first plane struck the north tower of the World Trade Center. 

UD’s carillon will ring 25 times in accordance with an old tradition within the fire house community.

University of Delaware ID Card Office staff members are busy planning for the "ONEcard re-card" initiative, which is slated to get underway in mid-February.

Grant Forward

The University of Delaware Library has announced the availability of a new database, Grant Forward.

The ringing of the carillon was initiated by Megan FitzGerald, vice president of University affairs in the StUDent Government Association, working with IT University Media Services. 

“We identified the ringing of the University’s bells as a simple way to allow members of the UD community to pause in memory,” FitzGerald said.
