Sept. 21: Garden maintenance
UD Food and Gardening Policy Committee plans fall maintenance event
7:59 a.m., Sept. 18, 2013--The Food and Gardening Policy Committee at the University of Delaware will hold a fall garden maintenance event from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, at the community garden at 189 W. Main Street in Newark, behind the English Language Institute.
Participants will perform general garden maintenance like mulching, weeding and mending fences. Anyone who is interested in welcome to assist, and no experience is required.
March 4: Legal Studies lecture
March 5-22: 'Juno and the Paycock'
Those who plan to attend should visit the scheduling website to provide information on when they can come. Potential volunteers who are not sure now whether they can attend and do not RSVP are still welcome on Saturday.
The event will provide an opportunity for people to get to know more about the Food and Garden Policy Committee. The committee is a graduate student group that is open to all UD students and personnel, including undergraduates. The committee operates a community garden and offers free garden, food and health workshops throughout the year.
The committee also works closely with the English Language Institute. For those who would like to work with international students on campus, there are opportunities to do that, as well.
For more information about the event or the group, contact Marisa Van Hoven, committee president, at email@example.com.
