Oct. 11: Digital animation workshop

Library offers 'Introduction to Digital Animation Techniques' multimedia workshop

8:41 a.m., Sept. 9, 2013--The University of Delaware Library will present a workshop on digital animation techniques on Friday afternoon, Oct. 11.

The workshop will introduce a number of animation techniques and the tools and software that can be used to create animations. Techniques covered will range from Claymation (for example, Wallace and Gromit) to Digital Rotoscoping (Waking Life).

'Contactless' ONEcard

The UD ID card will be replaced by the ONEcard, which incorporates a chip and features a new technology initiative called "contactless," meaning the card can be placed near a reader device rather than swiped.

Food Bank boost

University of Delaware Parking Services' monthlong food drive program, in which motorists could make donations to pay parking citations, provided over 6,000 nonperishable food items to the Food Bank of Delaware.

The workshop will be held from 2:30-4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, in Room B of the Student Multimedia Design Center on the lower level of the Morris Library. Presenter will be Nico Carver, assistant librarian, Student Multimedia Design Center.

This workshop is available at no charge and is open to University of Delaware faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required. Online registration is available.
