UD Active Minds organization announces first meeting of semester


11:12 a.m., Sept. 4, 2013--Active Minds, a registered student organization at the University of Delaware dedicated to mental health advocacy, will hold its first meeting of the semester at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, in 115 Gore Hall.

New and returning students are invited to attend the meeting.

Oct. 8: Black Lives Matter

UD's Department of Black American Studies will present a lecture by James Braxton Peterson of Lehigh University on the Black Lives Matter movement at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, in the Trabant University Center Theatre.

Oct. 9: Glow Night

Perkins Live will host a Glow Night event on Friday, Oct. 9.

Active Minds is the nation's only student-based mental health advocacy program on college campuses. Dedicated to eradicating the stigma associated with mental illness, Active Minds members work to promote awareness and understanding of the issues on campuses nationwide.

The UD chapter has Facebook and Twitter sites.
