UD Police report suspicious person near Mentors' Circle

8:19 p.m., Sept. 13, 2013--University of Delaware Police advise members of the University community to be on the lookout for a suspicious person who was seen in the vicinity of Mentors’ Circle on Friday afternoon, Sept. 13.

A student reported that around 6 p.m. she was sitting on the bench near the Wings of Thought sculpture when she was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation. He sat down, complimented her, placed his arm around her and asked for her phone number.  When she gave him a fake phone number, he became aggressive. 

She was able to get away from him, returned to her residence hall and contacted UD Police. 

The suspect, who said he was an alumnus and that his name was Frank, is described as about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with short brown hair. He was wearing gray jeans, a tight-fitting maroon shirt and gray sneakers.
