UD Employee Wellness Program offers fall classes, screenings
8:53 a.m., Oct. 11, 2013--The University of Delaware Office of Human Resources’ Employee Wellness Program invites UD faculty and staff to register now for new fall wellness programs.
The programs include a group relaxation class, “know your numbers” health screenings, information on wellness coaching and fitness classes.
RAD self-defense classes
The programs are offered as follows:
- Group relaxation class -- 15 Wellness Dollars. Meets Wednesdays through Dec. 18 in 260 Carpenter Sports Building. Participants will learn deep breathing and meditation exercises for relaxation and renewal.
- “Know your numbers” screenings -- 15 Wellness Dollars. Screenings will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, in 322 Townsend Hall and from 3-4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, in 110 Memorial Hall. Those who attend can learn their total and HDL cholesterol, blood sugar, body mass index and blood pressure, with results in 10 minutes.
- What is wellness coaching? – Free information sessions will be held from 12:30-1 p.m. and again from 1:15-1:45 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17. Participants can find out what the “buzz” is about and learn how working with a UD wellness coach can help make their wellness goals a reality.
- Fall II fitness classes -- 20 Wellness Dollars. Registration for the second fall session opens Oct. 21. Reserve a spot in these popular employee-only fitness classes, which will run from Oct. 28-Dec. 19. Note that there will be no classes the week of Nov. 25.
