Take the Mic student organization to host concert at Bacchus

9:37 a.m., Oct. 17, 2013--The University of Delaware student organization Take the Mic, which is dedicated to bringing local and independent artists to campus, will present a concert on Monday evening, Oct. 21, in the Bacchus Theatre of the Perkins Student Center.

Featured will be the Philadelphia-based punk rock powerhouse, the Menzingers, along with special guests the Moms, Caulfield Rebellion, and Bellwether.

Bioengineering pioneer James J. Collins of MIT will highlight recent efforts to create synthetic gene networks and programmable cells to advance diagnostic testing and disease treatment during the Edward G. Jefferson Life Sciences Lecture on May 3.

May 3: Culture and cuisine

On May 3, UD's Master Players Concert Series will present the final World Kitchen Series dinner and mixer event, featuring international artist Emad Jano Hemeda.

The doors will open at 6 p.m., with free admission for UD students and a $5 charge for non-students. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
