Faculty study abroad proposal assistance

Institute for Global Studies offers workshop to assist with study abroad proposals

9:49 a.m., Oct. 9, 2013--The University of Delaware’s Institute for Global Studies (IGS) will host “Proposal in an Hour,” a workshop to assist faculty in writing study abroad proposals this year. 

Interested faculty should bring the following information: the course they want to teach, the location they want to visit and calendar ideas.

China partnerships

A UD delegation recently traveled to China to participate in an event designed to create partnerships between UD and high-achieving Chinese high schools.

Olympic activities

UD's Matt Robinson, who has been active with a variety of Olympic programs, recently made a presentation at the Americas Best Practices Symposium on National Olympic Committee Management and Sport Performance in Miami.

IGS Deputy Director Amy Johnson, who is a professor of nursing and veteran study abroad leader, will answer questions and will work one-on-one with workshop participants to assist them in completing the proposal process. 

There are two dates for the same workshop:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 16 — Noon to 1 p.m., Rollins Conference Room, Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Jastak-Burgess Hall; and
  • Tuesday, Oct. 22 — 2 to 3 p.m., IGS Conference Room, Elliott Hall.
