Serafin String Quartet to perform in Gore Recital Hall

9:15 a.m., Oct. 23, 2013--The Serafin String Quartet, the University of Delaware’s quartet-in-residence, will perform at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3, in the Gore Recital Hall of the Roselle Center for the Arts.

The concert will feature works from the quartet's new CD released in July by Naxos, including Jennifer Higdon's Amazing Grace and Sky Quartet’s Blue Sky and Fury.

April 18: Resapalooza

The UD Resident Student Association has announced that the annual Resapalooza festival will be held from 3:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, April 18, on the North Green.

The program also includes Mozart’s String Quartet in D Major, K. 575 and Dvorak’s String Quartet in G Major, Op. 106.

The highly anticipated CD, now in full international release, features the world premiere recordings of Higdon's early chamber works. Early acclaim praises the new recording for "spot-on intonation, attention to rhythmic detail, superb sense of phrasing, and rich ensemble sound," by Classical Releases of Current Key Significance newsletter.

Tickets cost $15, $10 for UD faculty and staff, and $5 for students, payable by cash or check at the door.

As UD's quartet-in-residence, the Serafin String Quartet performs public concerts, provides student coaching, presents chamber music master classes and collaborates with faculty.
