New 'Random Acts of Poetry' series will showcase work of UD poets
9:17 a.m., Oct. 18, 2013--The University of Delaware’s Department of English is looking for poets to have their work showcased in a new program on campus and in the larger community.
The “Random Acts of Poetry” series is accepting submissions through Friday, Oct. 25. Twice each semester, selected poems will be displayed on posters around campus and the city of Newark. At the end of the academic year, the “Random Poets” will be invited to read their work at a special event.

Organizers say the series has been created to bring together writers who believe that poetry is essential and that “it would be a better world if someone were to surround us with poetry.” The program was developed in collaboration with the English honor society Sigma Tau Delta and organizations for student writers.
Poets should submit their work electronically to John Ernest, chair of the English department, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
