Dorothy Finger, Holocaust survivor, to address UD class

1:33 p.m., Oct. 15, 2013--Dorothy Finger, a survivor of the Holocaust, will be a guest speaker in a University of Delaware Jewish Studies class at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, in 014 Mitchell Hall.

Finger will read poems she has collected over the years to supplement her story of hiding in the forest and her message for people today.

Through July 31: 'Margaret Walker' exhibition

The University of Delaware Library the 100th anniversary of the birth of poet, novelist, teacher and critic Margaret Walker with a special exhibition on view through July 31.

July 31: Ragtime and jazz concert

Ragtime xylophone and jazz vibes will highlight a free mallet workshop concert, set at 8 p.m., Friday, July 31, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building on UD's Newark campus.

The class is taught by Diane Isaacs, adjunct professor who specializes in Holocaust studies.

The final session will be held Nov. 12, when Ann Jaffe, also a Holocaust survivor, will discuss her remarkable story of surviving in the forest with her family.
