Dorothy Finger, Holocaust survivor, to address UD class

1:33 p.m., Oct. 15, 2013--Dorothy Finger, a survivor of the Holocaust, will be a guest speaker in a University of Delaware Jewish Studies class at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, in 014 Mitchell Hall.

Finger will read poems she has collected over the years to supplement her story of hiding in the forest and her message for people today.

The University Student Centers and Division of Student Life have teamed up with registered student organizations and Greek chapters to offer Saturday night programs for all University of Delaware students throughout fall semester.

Sept. 9: National Agenda opens

Bill Plante, CBS News correspondent who covered the civil rights movement, will be the opening speaker in the University of Delaware's National Agenda speaker series on "Race in America" on Wednesday evening, Sept. 9.

The class is taught by Diane Isaacs, adjunct professor who specializes in Holocaust studies.

The final session will be held Nov. 12, when Ann Jaffe, also a Holocaust survivor, will discuss her remarkable story of surviving in the forest with her family.
