Black American Studies to present lecture on 'Indian Image in the Black Mind'

8:28 a.m., Oct. 9, 2013--The University of Delaware Department of Black American Studies will present a lecture by Arika Easley-Houser on “The Indian Images in the Black Mind” from 12:30-1:45 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, in 001 Mitchell Hall.

Easley-Houser, a doctoral candidate in the Department of History at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, will discuss the representation of Native Americans in antebellum African American public culture.

The UD Resident Student Association has announced that the annual Resapalooza festival will be held from 3:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, April 18, on the North Green.

Easley-Houser received her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and her master’s from Columbia University.
