Events Stories

Sept. 19: POW, MIA remembrance

University of Delaware Air Force and Army ROTC cadets will host a 24-hour event in remembrance of American military personnel held as prisoners of war or missing in action on Friday, Sept. 19.

Sept. 20: Do you Dare to Serve?

UD's offices of Residence Life and Alumni Relations are encouraging students and alumni to “Dare to Serve” as they host UD Day of Service on Sept. 20.

Scheduled at lunchtime, these varied, short and informal talks offer an introduction to each exhibition as well as time for discussion.

The exhibition, on view through Dec. 8, highlights the visual alchemy of artists Maren Hassinger and Sonya Clark, whose creative agencies turn the ordinary into extraordinary. Through their gifts of artistic innovation the artists have transformed Mechanical Hall Gallery into a space for contemplation, consideration and ambulation.

The exhibition follows short residencies of Hassinger and Clark at the University in the spring.

The exhibition is curated by Julie L. McGee, curator of African American art with University Museums and associate professor of Black American Studies.
