The alcohol resource fair was part of the introduction of "Altitude," a new initiative being developed to encourage student engagement as it relates to alcohol use on campus.
The HERO Walk benefitted the John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers, which seeks to prevent drunk driving tragedies by promoting the use of safe and sober designated drivers. Approximately 200 individuals from the city and University community -- some of them in costume -- registered for the event and came out to enjoy the festivities.
UD Police Chief Patrick Ogden thanked Alaina Crew, master police officer, and Regina Phillips, coordinator of Wellspring Outreach in Student Wellness and Health Promotion, for their efforts in bringing the necessary resources together for the successful event.
