Tomlinson to discuss 'Goya's War: Los Desastres de Guerra'
10:19 a.m., Nov. 27, 2013--Janis A. Tomlinson, director of University Museums at the University of Delaware, will discuss the exhibition “Goya’s War: Los Desastres de la Guerra” during a presentation from 12:30-1:15 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, in the Old College Gallery.
The title of Tomlinson’s talk, part of the University Museums Perspectives series, will be “Reframing Goya’s Desastres de la Guerra.”

“Goya’s War: Los Desastres de la Guerra,” which is curated by Tomlinson, is an extended meditation on the tragedy of war in its many aspects created by Francisco Goya y Lucientes. The 80 etchings depict scenes of war, famine, and political commentary.
The exhibition is a collaboration of UD’s University Museums and the Pomona College Museum of Art, and is circulated by the Pomona College Museum of Art.
