“This year, we have been experiencing a high number of e-pledge issues that United Way is correcting as quickly as possible,” Richards said. "We believe this has had an impact on our donations to date.”
Hayes added, “We are very close to reaching our goal, and we know UD can do it! Please consider any donation, large or small; this will make a difference in the lives of our neighbors and community.”
Both extended thanks to those who have already contributed to this year's campaign.
Richards is vice provost for graduate and professional education, and Hayes is vice president for communications and marketing.
In a recent opinion piece, Tony Allen, who co-chairs the statewide United Way of Delaware annual campaign, noted that United Way serves "nearly 350,000 Delawareans of all different backgrounds up and down the state." Allen is a UD alumnus and trustee.
