Inaugural Undergraduate Research in the Arts program set Friday at ISE Lab

12:59 p.m., May 5, 2014--The inaugural University of Delaware Undergraduate Research in the Arts program will be held Friday, May 9, from 2-5 p.m., on the first floor of the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Laboratory (ISE Lab).

Students will present works of sculpture, painting and choreography created during the 2014 academic year, and many of the works will have a connection to science.

Parasitic wasp studied

University of Delaware researchers are working to find solutions to fight the emerald ash borer, which is devastating ash tree populations throughout the United States.

SMART Scholarship

UD doctoral student Sean Fudger has received a Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation Scholarship for Service Program from the Department of Defense.

Deborah Hansen, a UD alumna and education associate in visual and performing arts for the Delaware Department of Education, will give the opening remarks.

A reception will follow the students’ presentations. The event is free and open to the public.
