Senior nursing student to discuss battle with depression


10:11 a.m., May 5, 2014--Charlene Garcia, a University of Delaware senior nursing student, will discuss her battle with depression during a presentation from 5-8 p.m., Monday, May 12, in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center.

The presentation is sponsored by Active Minds at UD and the Student Nurses Organization.

Dec. 1: 'Alice' manuscript

A talk by August A. Imholtz Jr. marking the 150th anniversary of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" will be held at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1, in the Class of 1941 Lecture Room in the Morris Library on the University of Delaware campus in Newark.

Dec. 2: UD Night at Winterthur

University of Delaware students, faculty and staff are invited to join in the winter festivities at UD Night at Yuletide at Winterthur from 4:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Garcia will present her personal narrative, which includes counseling, suicidal tendencies and psychiatric hospitalization.

Her presentation is titled “Patient and Provider: A UD Nursing Student’s Struggle with Depression.”
