Global Stories

Rwanda overcomes

For Louise Mushikiwabo, minister of foreign affairs and cooperation for the Republic of Rwanda and a 1988 UD alumna, an Oct. 1 return to campus was a homecoming.

Borel Fellows

In an effort to identify the first Borel Fellows, Mark Rieger, dean of UD's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, will travel to Kenya in November.

Setiloane will work with members of the nutrition department of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, Nigeria, on efforts aimed at improving the nutritional status of women, children and vulnerable groups in the rural areas by creating nutrition education messages that are sensitive to the cultural nuances of this population group.

The intended outcome of this project is that, in addition to nutrition education, a linkage between the University of Delaware and FUNAAB will be created for faculty and student exchange for research options as well as study abroad opportunities. FUNAAB is a World Bank-certified Center of Excellence Institution in Africa.
