Global Stories

Fulbright awards

Three University of Delaware students and an alumna have received word this spring that they will travel abroad as part of the newest class of Fulbright Student Program award winners.

Peace Corps plans

Two University of Delaware students, John McCarron and Bridgette Spritz, have been selected as Peace Corps volunteers and will serve in Ghana and Rwanda.

Setiloane will work with members of the nutrition department of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, Nigeria, on efforts aimed at improving the nutritional status of women, children and vulnerable groups in the rural areas by creating nutrition education messages that are sensitive to the cultural nuances of this population group.

The intended outcome of this project is that, in addition to nutrition education, a linkage between the University of Delaware and FUNAAB will be created for faculty and student exchange for research options as well as study abroad opportunities. FUNAAB is a World Bank-certified Center of Excellence Institution in Africa.
