Class of 2016 shows school spirit through T-shirt swap, Blue Hen Games
8:29 a.m., May 20, 2014--The University of Delaware Alumni Association (UDAA), in conjunction with the UD Student Alumni Ambassadors, hosted a T-shirt swap and Blue Hen Games on the North Green on Wednesday, May 7.
The UDAA gave members of the Class of 2016 T-shirts as part of a sophomore class T-shirt swap to help them show off their class pride. In return, sophomores gave one of their own used T-shirts, which were donated to Goodwill Industries.

The event swap focused mainly on the T-shirts but also gave the sophomores a chance to find their names on the Class of 2016 banner, enjoy snacks and music by DJ Amaze, decorate craft through the Student Alumni Ambassadors’ make and take event and participate in the Blue Hen Games.
Members of the Class of 2016 could register to take part in the Blue Hen Games, which consisted of two rounds of competition. Round one was a four-leg relay race and round two was a tug-o-war, a revived tradition from UD that had ended in the 1960s.
Eight teams participated in the games, each consisting of four members of the Class of 2016.
Each member of the overall winning team received a $50 Main Street gift card and each member of the second place team received a $25 gift card to Main Street.
In addition to the photos posted with this story, images from the event are posted on the UD Alumni Relations Facebook page.
The UDAA also sponsors the freshmen class banner signing, junior class “halfway there” event and senior class cap decorating party and pinning ceremonies.
