Digital communication revolution
Held June 6-8 and hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations, Alumni Weekend is the University's premier alumni event. More than 5,000 alumni and friends are expected to return to campus for a weekend to connect with the University and fellow Blue Hens.
Main events featured throughout the weekend include the Mug Night Dela-bration, Lunch with the UD Mascots, Blue Hen R&B Lounge, President Patrick Harker’s State of the University, UD Alumni Association Wall of Fame induction ceremony, and the new Blue Hen Bash.
Friday night event highlights include Office of Admissions, Honors Program and Athletics receptions in addition to the seven college receptions.
Attendees are able to stay overnight in the new East Campus buildings, Gilbert and Redding. Laird Campus residence halls sold out March 18.
Donors, volunteers and faculty will receive added benefits for their contributions to the University. Volunteers giving five or more hours of their time during the weekend will free admission to their choice of Mug Night or Saturday’s family-friendly Lunch with the UD Mascots.
Likewise, faculty may attend their choice of Mug Night or Lunch with the UD Mascots free of charge upon registering online. Volunteers and faculty will have the opportunity to register in April.
Alumni are encouraged to register by Tuesday, April 30, to take advantage of Early Hen pricing. Registration will close for all events Tuesday, June 3, excluding main events.
Held the first weekend after Commencement each year, Alumni Weekend is a tradition that is growing in popularity and in size. More than 5,000 Blue Hens and friends attended in 2013, participating in activities such as Mug Night, the Blue Hen 5K, President Harker's State of the University address and the Alumni Wall of Fame Ceremony.
