UD's Delle Donne named WNBA rookie of month for June
10:15 a.m., July 3, 2013--The University of Delaware’s Elena Delle Donne, now playing for the Chicago Sky, has been named the WNBA rookie of the month for June.
Delle Donne led all WNBA rookies in scoring (19.1 points per game), free throw percentage (.938, hitting 45 of 48) and minutes (33.1 per game.) She also was second in blocks (2 per game) and third in both rebounds (5.3 per game) and assists (2 per game).

Among all WNBA players, she ranked fourth in points and free throw percentage and fifth in blocks.
Delle Donne scored 25 points against Atlanta on June 16, 26 against New York on June 26 and 20 against Los Angeles on June 29.
The Sky is 7-4 and in second place in the WNBA East Conference.
Delle Donne was drafted by the Sky after leading UD to a record of 32-4, a Colonial Athletic Association championship and the NCAA tournament Sweet 16.
