Events Stories

Aug. 27-Dec. 3: 'Material Culture of War'

On the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I, the University of Delaware's Center for Material Culture Studies will offer a series of talks on the "The Material Culture of War" through the fall semester.

Aug. 29: College Colors Day

Blue Hens around the world are encouraged to wear University of Delaware blue and gold apparel to celebrate the 10th annual College Colors Day on Friday, Aug. 29.

Rising snow drifts and a rising body count confront the stranded guests of Monkswell Manor when they discover that a murderer is in their midst.  Whodunit? One of the suspicious newlyweds?  The quirky young woman with the shadowy past? Or perhaps the unexpected stranger carrying an odd black bag?

Christie’s suspenseful twists and turns keep the audience guessing until the very end in what has become the longest-running stage production in history.

The performance schedule for The Mousetrap is as follows: Jan. 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31 and Feb. 1, 6, 7, and 8 at 7:30 p.m.; and Jan. 26 and Feb. 1, 8 and 9 at 2 p.m.

New this year on the second and third Friday performance of each production is “Roundup with the REP.” After the Friday performances on Jan. 31 and Feb. 7, the REP invites the audience to join the acting company in the lobby for a cash bar, snacks, and great conversation.

The REP also presents a pre-show discussion beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1. This “REP Prologue” is a free and informal 20-minute presentation about the production, designed to enhance patrons’ enjoyment and understanding of what they are about to experience. A talk-back in the theatre with the cast will take place following the evening performance on Thursday, Jan. 30.

The Roselle Center for the Arts is located at 110 Orchard Road, on the corner of Orchard Road and Kent Way, in Newark. A convenient parking garage is attached to the center.

A complete schedule, directions and information on purchasing tickets can be found at the REP’s website or by calling the REP’s box office at 302-831-2204.
