Career-oriented UD certificate overview to be held in Wilmington

10:33 a.m., Jan. 2, 2014--A free information session for spring 2014 professional development certificates offered by the University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS) will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Doubletree Hotel, 700 N. King St., Wilmington. 

Certificates to be featured include: Analytics: Optimizing Big Data, Business Analyst, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Paralegal, Advanced Paralegal, Project Management, and Social Media Marketing Strategy.

July 28: Science Cafe

A Science Café presentation, "Oil Spills, Airplanes, and Rubber Duckies: The Challenges of Predicting Motion in the Ocean," will be held on Monday, July 28, from 5:30-7 p.m., at the Deer Park Tavern in Newark.

Aug. 7: iCanConnect at CDS

Experts in disabilities technology will explore the iCanConnect program during a Lunchtime Learning session on Aug. 7 at UD's Center for Disabilities Studies.

The information session is an ideal place for potential students to find out if a certificate would meet their needs, to meet instructors and PCS staff, and have the opportunity to ask questions about the programs. Graduates from several programs will be on hand, and refreshments will be served.

Classes meet at the UD Downtown Center at 8th and King Streets in Wilmington, and are scheduled to suit working professionals. Some classes include virtual online class meetings to supplement the classroom sessions. Time required to complete these certificates ranges from three months to just under a year.
