Black American studies lecture series features new art exhibition
9:26 a.m., Feb. 6, 2014--The University of Delaware Department of Black American Studies will open its spring “Black Studies All Day All Night” speaker series with a presentation from 12:30-1:15 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24, in the Mechanical Hall Gallery.
Julie L. McGee, University Museums curator of African American art, and Robert Straight, professor of art, will discuss their co-curated exhibition “FreshPAINT: African American Art @ UD,” which will be on view Feb. 12-June 28 at the gallery. The exhibition highlights paintings from UD’s extensive collection of works by African American artists.

Sept. 17: Teaching and Learning Conversation
The presentation is also a University Museums Perspectives curatorial conversation, and it is being held in conjunction with the Department of Black American Studies series.
Coffee and cider will be served on the second floor of Mechanical Hall in conjunction with the presentation.
