March 2: Ballroom dance classes

University Ballroom Dance Team offers spring semester classes


8:13 a.m., Feb. 28, 2014--The University of Delaware Ballroom Dance Team has announced that it will offer a new six-week session of public classes beginning Sunday, March 2, and Tuesday, March 4.

The team will teach salsa, cha cha, bachata, foxtrot and waltz.

Oct. 6: 'Just Mercy' topic

Bryan Stevenson, author of the University of Delaware's 2015 First Year Common Reader, "Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption," will discuss his book during a presentation at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Mitchell Hall.

Oct. 7: FastForward

UD's Horn Program will host FastForward, an evening with entrepreneurs, inventors and community leaders, on Wednesday, October 7.

Beginner salsa classes will meet from 7-8 p.m., Sunday, March 2, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on South College Avenue. Beginner foxtrot and waltz will follow from 8-9 p.m.

Beginner and intermediate bachata will meet from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, also at St. Thomas, with beginner foxtrot and cha cha following from 8-9 p.m.

Cost is $50, or $25 for UD students.
