Feb. 24-28: Awareness week
Student groups team up for "Israeli Apartheid Week"
4:23 p.m., Feb. 21, 2014--Three registered student organizations at the University of Delaware -- Students for Justice in Palestine, Delaware African Students Association (DASA) and Amnesty International at UD -- are teaming up to host "Israeli Apartheid Week," an international week of awareness on the Newark campus.
The following events are scheduled:
Sept. 5-Nov. 14: Trabant Now
Sept. 9: National Agenda opens
Monday, Feb. 24: Information booth in the Trabant University Center from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; and a documentary screening and discussion in the basement lounge of Warner Hall from 7-9 p.m.;
Tuesday, Feb. 25: Petition signing in the Trabant University Center from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; and a screening of Five Broken Cameras in the lounge of Brown Residence Hall from 7-9 p.m.;
Wednesday, Feb. 26: Display of a replica of the "Apartheid Wall" at a time and location to be announced; and a screening of the award-winning film The Wall at 7 p.m. in the lounge of Brown Residence Hall;
Thursday, Feb. 27: Information session on the movement to boycott, divest and sanction Israel from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Trabant University Center; and
Friday, Feb. 28: Lecture by world-renowned activists Max Blumenthal and David Sheen on "Israeli Treatment of African Refugees" from 6-8 p.m., at a location to be announced.
