Now in its fourth year, the contest provides University colleges and departments a way to showcase their Blue Hen pride during Homecoming week. Departments with the most popular and most spirited photos will win prizes and bragging rights as UD’s most spirited groups.

Campus Stories

From graduates, faculty

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

Participating groups can submit photos by posting them directly on the UD Alumni Relations Facebook page along with the name of the department. Departments may post photos between Oct. 4-10. The photo with the most “likes” by 4 p.m., Oct. 10, will be the winner of the People’s Choice Award.

In addition, UD Alumni Association President Ken Jones, Class of 1980, will choose the recipient of the UDAA President’s Choice Award and present a trophy to the winning department.

Use of Photoshop is permitted; however, departments are reminded to keep submissions tasteful. Those without a camera may book a photographer through the Office of Communications and Marketing. For more information about UD Photographic Services, visit OCM Photo Services.

Winners will be announced on Friday, Oct. 11, at the Pep Rally on Laird Campus, which starts at 4:30 p.m. For more information about the Pep Rally, visit http://www.udel.edu/homecoming
