Energy symposium

UD Energy Institute annual symposium set for May 14 at Clayton Hall

TEXT SIZE

1:15 p.m., April 24, 2014--The University of Delaware Energy Institute (UDEI) will hold its annual symposium on Wednesday, May 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the John M. Clayton Hall Conference Center.

The event offers UD students and faculty the opportunity to present their energy-related research efforts, learn about key issues in the energy industry, and collaborate with colleagues and industry professionals.

Research Stories

Temperature extremes

A study has found that spatial patterns of extreme temperature anomalies — readings well above or below the mean — are warming faster than the overall average.

Snow monitoring network

Real-time data from Delaware Environmental Observing System sensors is helping DelDOT set reimbursement thresholds for neighborhood association snow removal costs.

Following welcome remarks by Michael Klein, director of the UD Energy Institute, distinguished researchers from many of UD’s research centers will share their work and present topics on energy efficiency, solar and wind technology and fuel cells, among others. Interactive poster sessions will take place throughout the day.
