April 17: SGA Student Forum
UD undergraduate students invited to SGA-sponsored Student Forum
12:54 p.m., April 14, 2014--University of Delaware undergraduate students are invited to a Student Government Association-sponsored Student Forum to be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 17, in the Perkins Student Center West Lounge. The forum is free and open to the campus community.
Students will hear from University officials and have an opportunity to ask questions on topics such as:
May 27: Adelante, Kente Stole ceremonies
June 5: Blue Hen 5K
- What new developments are taking place at the University of Delaware's STAR Campus?
- Can my intramural sports team practice at the Big Bob?
- What should I do if the courses I need for my major are consistently not being offered?
The forum will feature a panel of UD administrators including Katie Connolly, assistant dean of students; Alan Brangman, vice president of facilities, real estate and auxiliary services; Robin Moore, senior director of operations for dining services; Richard Rind, director of parking and transportation; Sgt. Hugh Ferrill, UD Police; Jimmy Howard, assistant director for student and community advocacy in the office of residence life and housing; Jake Olkkola, associate athletic director, recreation services; and Stacey Bunting-Thompson, senior associate athletic director, external relations.
Each panelist will present a brief description of their role at the University and what responsibilities exist within their department.
After hearing brief updates from each administrator, the floor will be open to students for questions and commentary. Jessica Borcky, SGA president, will moderate the event.
Organizers said students are encouraged to attend and voice any concerns they have about University programs and policies, adding this is an opportunity to "be heard" and to help improve the quality of academic, residential, and extracurricular life at UD.
