Haven announces participation in National Day of Silence

8:07 a.m., April 11, 2014--Haven, the University of Delaware's only LGBTQ registered student organization, will honor individuals who have been victims of bullying and harassment by participating in National Day of Silence on Friday, April 11.

On Friday, members of Haven's executive board will be standing outside on the patio of the Trabant University Center in silence to draw attention to the people who are silenced every day due to anti-LGBTQ bullying.

Jan. 28: Poetry performance

The noted author and performance poet Taylor Mali will be featured in an event at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the University of Delaware's Roselle Center for the Arts.

Jan. 29: Hot Chocolate Festival

With Thursday's Hot Chocolate Festival a sweet success, a second has been planned for Jan. 29 in the Perkins Student Center.

The Day of Silence is a nationwide program of the LGBTQ advocacy group GLSEN.

Haven continues its tradition of standing in solidarity with LGBTQ students across the country."
