April 22: Fulbright opportunities in Brazil

Institute for Global Studies hosts webinar to celebrate Brazilian Spring


8:17 a.m., April 16, 2014--The University of Delaware Institute for Global Studies (IGS) will host an informational webinar on Fulbright 0pportunities in Brazil Tuesday, April 22, starting at 2 p.m., in the institute’s conference room in Elliott Hall.

The webinar is part of Brazilian Spring sponsored by IGS. Participants will have an opportunity to enjoy the UDairy Creamery’s sorbet, “Samba de Acai,” the creamery’s first-ever non-dairy frozen treat.

Discovery in Egypt

UD's Steven Sidebotham and colleagues from Poland and the Netherlands have received recognition for their archaeological discoveries at the site of the early Egyptian port of Berenike.

French theatre

Students in the French Theatre Workshop performed a full-length play in French and later spoke with the playwright via videoconference.

Participants also will be able to examine the multitude of opportunities available to teach and conduct research in Brazil through this webinar. The presentation will discuss application processes relevant to the country program, and will highlight examples of successful projects and scholar accomplishments of recent years. 

The program includes four distinguished chair awards, multiple grants for postdoctoral research and over 30 grants in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields through the Fulbright-Brazil Scientific Mobility Program Core and Distinguished Chair awards.
