Seasonal change

University Facilities begins seasonal change from heating to cooling

TEXT SIZE

11:08 a.m., April 17, 2014--As occurs every spring and fall, University of Delaware Facilities is in the process of preparing for the changing seasons, in this case from heating to cooling.

This major operational change is resource intensive and has significant impacts on equipment, so it is only done once per season.

FYI Stories

Open on schedule

UD is operating on its normal schedule Tuesday, Jan. 27. Facilities staff have been treating and clearing campus parking lots and sidewalks since early Tuesday morning.

Wednesday webinars

UD's Office of Human Resources is offering a series of live webinars on the new performance appraisal system and process on four upcoming Wednesdays.

Unfortunately, this means that in some buildings, space temperatures will be warmer than usual until the changeover is complete.

Facilities will continue to monitor nighttime low temperatures and extended weather forecasts to ensure that adequate heating is available as needed. Long-range forecasts will determine when the final changeover is made.

Continue to report maintenance problems to Facilities at 831-1141 or through the online Fixit form.
