Alpha Xi Delta sponsors 5K run, walk to benefit Autism Speaks

9:19 a.m., April 23, 2014--Alpha Xi Delta at the University of Delaware will sponsor a five-kilometer run and walk to benefit Autism Speaks on Sunday, May 4.

Registration will begin at noon and the race at 1 p.m., starting at Christiana Commons on UD’s Laird Campus and continuing along White Clay Creek.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

There will be prizes for the top three runners in the following age groups: 18-22, 23-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and older.

There also will be a bake sale, a raffle and other activities before the race.

Participants can preregister at this website, and will receive a shirt the day of the race.

All proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks. Autism affects one in 68 children and a child is diagnosed every eight minutes.
