Volunteers sought for Commencement May 31
11:48 a.m., April 30, 2014--Volunteers are needed to help at the University of Delaware's Spring Commencement ceremony, scheduled on Saturday, May 31, in Delaware Stadium.
Each year volunteer marshals and ushers play a crucial role in this important ceremony that celebrates the academic achievements of the graduating class.

This year's speaker will be U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, and many additional volunteers are needed because of increased security measures and expected high attendance.
"Those who facilitate the workings of commencement -- the marshals and the ushers -- all serve as volunteers. Without their service and sacrifice of time, it would be impossible to conduct these ceremonies with the necessary style and efficiency," said Jeff Garland, vice president and University secretary.
To sign up as a volunteer for the 2014 Spring Commencement, contact Ian Janssen in University Archives and Records Management at firstname.lastname@example.org or Kim DeShields in the Office of the Vice President and University Secretary at email@example.com as soon as possible.
