University's United Way employee campaign 2012 to kick off
8:29 a.m., Sept. 10, 2012--The University of Delaware has announced the kickoff of its 2012 United Way of Delaware campaign. This year’s employee campaign co-chaired by Nancy Brickhouse, interim provost, and Jennifer (J.J.) Davis, vice president for finance and administration will run from Oct. 8 through Nov. 16.
A kickoff event will be held on Monday, Oct. 1, from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center. At this event, United Way Champions volunteers from various colleges and units across campus will gather to receive encouragement from UD leadership and United Way representatives and learn more about their role as Champions in the campaign.

The United Way of Delaware is the largest fundraising organization in the state, with over 65 years of experience providing high quality direct community impact work and expertise in identifying high-need community issues. It supports more than 100 agencies with such key goals as helping children and youth achieve their potential, promoting financial stability and independence and improving health.
This year, University employees will have the opportunity to volunteer their time to various United Way agencies, as well as participate in a “Days of Caring Event” that serve and support the people of Delaware.
