8:46 a.m., Sept. 12, 2012--All University of Delaware colleges, departments, faculty, staff and students are invited to show their UD pride by participating in the 2012 Homecoming “Dare to show more spirit” photo contest.

The contest is sponsored by UD’s Office of Alumni Relations.

Campus Stories

From graduates, faculty

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to get together with colleagues to snap a creative photograph showing Blue Hen spirit.

Prizes will be awarded to photographs judged the most popular or most spirited.

To submit an entry, email a high resolution file to the Office of Alumni Relations at alumnet@udel.edu with your name and your group's name.

The deadline for photo submissions is Friday, Oct. 12, at 4:30 p.m.

Use of Photoshop is permitted and an Alumni Relations representative said entrants should remember to “please keep it classy.”

Those who do not have a good camera can book a photographer through the Office of Communications and Marketing. For more information about UD photographic services visit OCM Photo Services.

This year's winners will be announced on Friday, Oct. 19, and the UD community is invited to vote via Qualtrics with one vote per person. Winners will receive a framed plaque to show off in their office space and bragging rights until Homecoming 2013.

Darelle Riabov, a 1973 graduate and UD Alumni Association President, will select the UDAA President’s Choice Winner. The winning entry will receive the coveted Homecoming trophy.
