University Library offers 'Getting Started with Patents' workshop Oct. 23
8:24 a.m., Sept. 26, 2012--The University of Delaware Library will present a workshop titled “Getting Started with Patents” on Tuesday morning, Oct. 23.
Patents contain a wealth of valuable information that is not available from any other resource. They are a leading indicator of new technologies and provide valuable information for researchers as well as inventors.

The workshop is intended for those who would like to learn what patents are and how to locate patents that are relevant to their work or personal interests. Topics covered will include the basics of patent searching, what information is included in a patent, and the best websites for retrieving patent information.
The workshop will meet from 10 a.m.-noon in the Library Instruction Room (116A) on the first floor of Morris Library. Presenter will be Thomas Melvin, librarian, Reference and Instructional Services Department.
This workshop is available at no charge and is open to University of Delaware faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required. To register online, go to this website.
