Manager training opportunity

Seats available in Blue and Gold Management Essentials certificate program

11:16 a.m., Sept. 17, 2012--Seats are still available in the Blue and Gold Management Essentials certificate training program, which is sponsored by the University of Delaware Office of Human Resources’ Employee Education and Development (EED) unit.

Beginning Thursday, Sept. 27, the class will meet for three hours one time a week over a period of two months.

June 6: UDid It! Picnic

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

2FA protects you

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

Solidly based in management theory and practice, the course examines the critical role and functions of a manager/supervisor within an organization to assist UD managers in developing a professional approach to leading and supervising others.

Topics include:

  • Financial management;
  • Building rapport and trust;
  • Leadership styles;
  • Motivating change in the workplace;
  • Process improvement techniques; and
  • Coaching skills.

Following the course, participants will also have the opportunity to meet as a group with the instructor to discuss the on-the-job application of the management skills.
