Charity golf fund-raiser to benefit scholarship fund

3:31 p.m., Sept. 11, 2012--The registration deadline for a golf tournament in memory of University of Delaware alumna Megan Ashley Perry is Saturday, Sept. 15.

The tournament on Monday, Oct. 1, will benefit the foundation established in memory of Ms. Perry, a 2005 communication graduate of the University, who died in a 2008 accident while a passenger in a car in New Jersey.

The tournament, now in its third year, has been moved to Deerfield Golf Club near Newark, Del., to better accommodate interest from the University community. Proceeds support the educational and charitable mission of the nonprofit foundation, including a scholarship that, when funded, will benefit a female UD undergraduate in the Department of Communication.
