Horn Program in Entrepreneurship sets pitch competition

8:30 a.m., Sept. 20, 2012--The University of Delaware’s Horn Program in Entrepreneurship will hold an elevator pitch competition – a brief summary of a proposed product or service – on Friday, Oct. 12, at the Venture Development Center, 196 S. College Ave.

The competition is open to all current UD undergraduate and graduate students.

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

Entries are being accepted through 9 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27. Participants should send an email message to e-studies@udel.edu with their name, their business name and a one-to-two sentence description of their business idea.

Finalists will have 60 seconds to pitch their ideas as part of the launch celebration for a campuswide entrepreneurship initiative.

The competition provides a way to gain feedback, make connections and win $1,500 in Venture Development Center dollars.
