Gamma Sigma Sigma variety show to benefit UrbanPromise Wilmington

8:38 a.m., Oct. 25, 2012--Gamma Sigma Sigma at the University of Delaware will hold its annual variety show at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, in the Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center.

Modeled after the television show America’s Got Talent, the night will include various performances, judges and prizes.

Through Sept. 12: 'Early Delaware Documents'

The University of Delaware Library has announced the re-installation of the exhibition "Queen Christina and John Dickinson: Two Early Delaware Documents," which is on display in the Information Room on the first floor of the Morris Library through Friday, Sept. 12.

Sept. 3: Sculptor to discuss work

Visiting scholar Cameron Hockenson will discuss his work during a lecture to be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Room 101 of the University of Delaware's Studio Arts Building.

The event will feature the Deltones, the Y Chromes, the Riot Acts, Zookie, Vision a cappella, the Chainamics, the Delaware Dark Arts, Elisa Sarantchin, and more.

Funds raised will benefit UrbanPromise Wilmington, a non- profit organization seeking to equip children and young adults with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, and personal growth. To learn more, visit the UrbanPromise website.

Tickets will be $5 at the door and $4 in advance. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase.
