Newark Police investigate residential burglary on South Chapel Street

3:30 p.m., Oct. 19, 2012--Newark Police are investigating a residential burglary that occurred at approximately 3:55 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, at a home in the 100 block of South Chapel Street.

During the incident, a 22-year-old woman, who is a UD student, was sleeping in her second floor bedroom when she awoke to find an unknown man touching her leg. When she awoke, the suspect fled the home.

Police describe the suspect as a man with a large build wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head. It is unknown how the suspect entered the residence, and no property was discovered missing from the house.
