TEXT SIZE

3:38 p.m., Oct. 2, 2012--What’s your passion? If given a study grant to pursue a passionate interest in any subject, anywhere in the world, what would you do?

The Plastino Scholars Program — established in 2007 by David Plastino, a University of Delaware alumnus who wanted to give students a learning opportunity of a lifetime — allows students to answer these open-ended questions.

Events Stories

Jan. 27-June 12: 'Sumter to Appomattox'

The University of Delaware Library has announced a new exhibition "From Fort Sumter to the Appomattox Court House: The American Civil War," which will be on view from Jan. 27 through June 12.

Jan. 27-July 3: 'Coastal Zone Act'

An exhibition on "The Legacy of the Delaware Coastal Zone Act: Conserving the First State" will be on view from Jan. 27 through July 3 in the Morris Library.

An interest meeting for undergraduate students considering the program will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m., in 100 Sharp Laboratory.

A second interest meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m., also in 100 Sharp Laboratory.

The Plastino Scholars Program awards grants to undergraduate students that support self-designated, off-campus learning experiences.

At the meeting, students will have the opportunity to meet former scholars and learn about their Plastino “projects,” and receive information on how to apply.

Applications for the 2012 Plastino Scholars Program are due by Friday, Dec. 7.
