Newark cancels annual Halloween Parade, Trick-or-Treat Main Street
11:45 a.m., Oct. 26, 2012--With Hurricane Sandy moving up the East Coast, the city of Newark has canceled the annual Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treat Main Street.
Activities were to have begun at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28.

City officials said it was necessary to cancel the event now so that staff scheduled to work the event will be available for citywide storm preparations.
