Traffic alert

A new traffic signal with pedestrian countdown system will be installed at the intersection of East Main Street and the University of Delaware's Green, with work starting June 1 and continuing into July.

Green roofs, or thin vegetated roofs, are increasingly used as an emerging solution to reduce energy costs, lengthen roof lifespans, and protect water quality.

Starting in 2008, an interdisciplinary team at UD worked to design and install the University’s first green roof over the classroom wing of the Colburn Lab.

The project was completed this summer and Chad Nelson, assistant professor of landscape design, will share the history of the project and will offer insights for groups interested in pursuing other green roof projects.
