Faculty Curriculum Development Grants. These awards are set aside for innovative projects conducted by individual faculty (amount up to $6,000), or disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary teams of faculty (amount up to $18,000). Professional staff who are directly involved with student instruction also are invited to apply. Projects at both undergraduate and graduate levels are invited. Proposals may focus on the following aspects of curriculum development: creation of new courses, significant revision of existing courses or integration of innovative pedagogies and/or assessments that support student learning. Learn more about the program at this website.

Mini-grants of less than $1,000 are also available under this funding category for small-scale projects that improve or enrich existing undergraduate courses. Contact CTAL at 831-2027 or send email to ctal-info@udel.edu to discuss a small-scale project and receive application details.

Academic Program Grants. These awards are designated for academic deans, chairs or academic program directors to conduct educational projects that involve an entire academic unit or address educational issues that cross-cut multiple units. Special consideration will be given to proposals that address initiatives that support the academic aspects of the UD strategic plan and/or general education goals. Administrators interested in submitting a proposal should contact the director of CTAL (Deborah Allen, at deallen@udel.edu) for additional information about the scope of the program and the application process.

Faculty Travel Grants. Grants of up to $1,000 are available to support faculty participation in off-campus workshops or seminars on pedagogy, or conferences directly related to teaching; conferences may be discipline-specific or higher education pedagogy-focused. Professional staff who are directly involved with student instruction are also eligible to apply. Learn more about the program at this website.

Applications for all three instructional grant types will be considered on a rolling basis beginning Friday, Nov. 2, until Friday, May 10, 2013, or until all funds are expended.

Faculty Curriculum Development Grant projects must be completed by the end of spring semester 2014, with a final report submitted by Aug. 1, 2014.
